Y2X Ltd and Learning Tree International to offer 2 day GDPR workshop
Y2X Ltd is pleased to confirm its official partnership with Learning Tree International for the delivery of a two day GDPR workshop aimed at equipping managers with the skills needed to deliver GDPR compliance. Y2X is a London-based IT consultancy and staffing agency with a difference, as CEO Lee McFarland is an ex-military NCO and provides IT services that are distinguished by their military precision, attention to detail and accuracy.
The GDPR workshop will be held at Learning Tree’s London Education Centre on dates to be advised, and is open to any member of the public. Tuition will be in class and via online learning, utilising Learning Tree’s AnyWare platform. This time-sensitive training course will be delivered by a process driven military veteran with vast expertise in value-driven training. All participants will come away from the GDPR workshop with in depth knowledge of the new legislation which can be disseminated to colleagues in the work environment and business units.
Y2X CEO Lee McFarland confirms: “The company is excited to be working with Learning Tree on delivering a structured learning path to equip managers with the specialist knowledge and skills needed to deliver GDPR compliance. Delivered by an experienced GDPR consultant, our training sessions are built on the foundations of our extensive practical experience gained advising on GDPR compliance and related information security standards such as ISO 27001.”
The partnership between Y2X Ltd and Learning Tree International offers two days of training on GDPR and focuses on real world preparation delivered by military trainers, with vast expertise in GDPR legislation. GDPR comes into effect on 25 May 2018 and it’s vital that business managers and IT leads are equipped with the knowledge and skills to ensure compliance with this legislation. Non-compliance with GDPR can lead to fines of €20mn or 4% of business turnover, so awareness at the most senior levels within organisations is extremely critical. Y2X provide the mission-critical overview of GDPR that is essential for acquiring in-depth knowledge, together with intensive training on all aspects of this legislation.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a significant piece of legislation which replaces the current Data Protection Act (1998). GDPR provides for board level data protection accountability and has requirements for transparent governance and reporting procedures to ensure compliance. Delegates attending this two day workshop will be armed with the skills and knowledge needed to ensure their company initiates GDPR in conformance with the legislation, and that all ongoing working procedures meet or exceed the new, more stringent, regulations.
It is essential that managers assume key roles in the preparation and planning for GDPR in organisations of any size, as there may be a requirement to take on additional staff members to handle the required transparency provisions and the new rights to be given to individuals with regard to the processing and retention of their personal data. The requirement for greater transparency and accountability means that data protection documentation and corporate governance issues will become paramount considerations for businesses.
Businesses will experience the effects of GDPR to different degrees, for example the new legislation has extensive requirements for companies holding children’s data or conducting marketing and profiling activities regularly. So, managers need to be aware of the requirements most likely to impact their own business model and plan accordingly. The Y2X workshop provides all the tools and assistance required to plan and action these aspects of GDPR with precision and accuracy, ensuring that businesses are prepared for GDPR and maintain consistent adherence to the legislation on an ongoing basis.
All businesses need to identify and document their company’s lawful basis for the processing of personal data and this needs to be included in privacy notifications and business documentation as part of the GDPR requirements for accountability. Putting it in more basic terms, those who don’t have a valid business reason for holding or processing specific personal data, should not be doing it. This could cause considerable impact to marketing operations of some organisations, where quizzes or questionnaires have delved deep into consumers lives and the information that is retained on file is irrelevant to the daily operations of the organisation.
Y2X provide a variety of services, including GDPR services, project management and strategy integration. The company prides itself on its mission-critical attitude to the provision of IT services. Y2X Consultancy comprises a combination of military veterans and IT professionals, and can provide temporary IT personnel to cover temporary shortages or work on projects. Y2X provide military trainers for a variety of IT disciplines, so employers can rest assured that data security and privacy considerations are paramount. Employers working with Y2X appreciate the company’s precise planning and tight organisational skills, alongside the depth of knowledge offered by the company’s military veteran workforce. The team at Y2X Ltd has spent a good deal of time considering the implications of GDPR and can help any organisation reduce their liabilities to a minimum.
